Hello, I have GeForce 9600GT video card. It has PCI-E 2.0x16 bus type. When OS is loading it asks about video regimes to choose of. And it stucks for any of them.
On the other hand on another computer I have GeForce 8500 and it has PCI-E 2.0 Bus type and everything is working fine. Is there any settings in bios that I should try to play with in order to make the OS to load correctly ? Or anything else I should do to make OS to load ? Thank you in advance. |

Thank you for the information. Some video cards have conflicting memory mapping with the os and this will lead to a kernel halt. I've added both of your cards to hardware compatibility list. Thanks.

Maybe its something to do with the video card having too much memory (i.e. 1GB) and computer having too little (i.e. 1GB). When MenuetOS64 is allowed to use only 128-256MB of RAM then other mappings would interfere.
One probable trick to try (I don't know if it works) is to make a change in config.mnt to mirror the exact memory configuration of your machine. The other thing to try is change in BIOS (I don't know if it is there anymore) the AGP Aperture value to a lower or higer number. If you also happen to have an integrated video, try disabling it completely from the BIOS, because this will most probably change the settings. Although, I don't guarantee that it will make Menuet work in this case I will have to try this myself sometimes. Do you happen to have more details on your specification? |
